After a few days in Bangalore, it is hot here near the equator. Let’s make some Mugicha (麦茶). Mugicha is roasted barley tea. Mousan use to keep large containers of it in the fridge.
You can get roasted barley tea bags in Japanese or Korean stores. This particular tea bag is designed to be used in water bottles.
Dip the bag in a bottle. Let a bit on top fold out and seal the lid. Keep it in the refrigerator for about an hour.
And here is our Mugicha. Refreshing and sugar free drink for hot days.
In Korea it is called Boricha (보리차). In one of my favorite Korean eating places, they serve roasted barley tea instead of water.
