While I do agree with the author that in both these cases the western media was unfair but I also feel that it was it was a foolish decision to have your embassy working while everything around was getting bombed. Again, it was brainless to try to duel with a plane that is much bigger than you (and in international waters). If anyone needs to be blamed it is the commander of the squad who ordered the chase.

And how about the Chinese media that is only too happy to blast the Japanese whenever they get the chance, I wonder if any one dares to print that Japan was the no 1 aid donor to China or it was one of the first countries to normalize trade relations with China after the communist takeover.
